Gray Moore is an exceptional guitarist who unfortunatly has had to live in the shadow of Eric Clapton etc, I have just been to see 'Gary Moore/Scars' in concert it was excellent, I also got this CD via Amazon and would say that it is good but it takes a good number of times playing the CD before you get used to it the new CD is a lot more heavy rock (even 'hendrix' type sound) if you want the /5(16).

4. After spending over a decade churning out electrified blues, Gary Moore partially returns to his hard rock beginnings in Scars. Reminiscent of '60s power trios such as Cream and especially the Jimi Hendrix Experience ("World of Confusion" is practically a rewrite of "Manic Depression" and "Ball and Chain" borrows the riff from "Voodoo Child"), Moore hasn't abandoned the blues, he's just pumped.

5. Trusting this dude's judgement I bought the CD as soon as I could find a copy. This guy Tony is a much needed shot of good surly charisma that rock music has been long overdue for. His uber-rasp vocals, delivered with the street-wisdom and finesse of some the greatest in blues, coat the endless barrage of infectious hooks that are this debut album/5(39).
